I reached out to HP Partner SoftChoice after hearing that they had won the HP Storage US Growth Partner of the Year Award at the HP Global Partner Conference.  I did a podcast with Jim Willis from SoftChoice and its a good one!  Jim told me about a customer who when faced with a support contract renewal of six-digits from EMC decided to look at what their options were.

In stepped Jim, SoftChoice, and HP 3PAR StoreServ.  When you listen to this podcast you'll hear more proof that HP 3PAR StoreServ is making a huge impact in the storage market!

If you rather download this as a podcast, right click here and save the MP3 file. You can also subscribe to my podcast on iTunes - go to the iTunes store and search for "Around the Storage Block" or you can open this link and click on the "View in iTunes" button under my picture.

Midrange and Flash Champion

The podcast with Jim got me thinking - DCIG has done a Buyer's Guide for both All Flash Arrays and Midrange Arrays.   HP 3PAR StoreServ was named "Best-in-Class" in the Midrange report and was number 3 and "Recommended" in the All Flash Buyers' Guide.  I took those two reports and looked for vendors that had a common platform between midrange and AFA.  No surprise to me that HP 3PAR StoreServ comes out on top, by a long shot.  Here's the chart I pulled together by adding the scores of the platforms that are in both reports:

(2) VNX-F is based on VNX7600 but will include it as same platform as 7500.

I'll have more to say about this next week.  Want to know more about HP 3PAR StoreServ Storage? Check out the HP 3PAR StoreServ product page where you can find white papers and even free assessments.

For those that celebrate it, Happy Resurrection Day!
