Staying connected to HP Storage in 2014

CJZ Headshot fixed 150 x 150.jpgBy Calvin Zito, @HPStorageGuy  vexpert 2012 logo.gif

As we begin a new year, I thought it would be helpful for me to give you the many ways you can stay in touch with HP Storage and with me.  I try to respond to everyone who reaches out via social channels so if you have something to say or a question to ask, don't hesitate to ping me!

NOTE: is a URL shortener that I use.  For these URLs, I've used custom links that I hope are memorable and help you find these sites a bit easier.  However, unlike regular URLs, the capitalization in these links do matter so pay attention to that.

HP ChalkTalk.jpgChalkTalks on YouTube:

I started creating ChalkTalks back in November 2012 - so a bit over a year ago.  I've create about 55 of these.  They include announcement overviews, new products, architecture discussions, and more.   I enjoy making them and have had a lot of positive feedback.  The one constructive criticism I hear regularly is some folks don't like the background music.  I've turned the volume way down on it but can't see doing these without something to help cover up my voice-over!

LinkedIn Icon.pngHP Storage LinkedIn Group:

I took over managing this group in April 2012.  It's has grown tremendously (by nearly 4X) and there are some great conversations happening.  It is a private group - meaning I review everyone who wants to join.  It is for customers, partners, and employees of HP Storage.  You won't find recruiters and I don't let members use the group for any kind of promotion.  It is also the new home for the Connect (independent HP Users Group) Storage Special Interest Group (SIG).  You can also connected with me on LinkedIn via Let me know you read the blog so I accept your invitation to connect.

Podcast_RGB_blue_NT.pngATSB Podcast:

When I took over this blog five plus years ago, it was to manage it as a team blog.  But I found it was difficult to get people to commit the time to write a blog post.  So I started podcasting as a way to make it easy for subject matter experts to share information with our blog audience.  I'm now up to a 159 podcasts.  You can find them on with the link I shared but you can also find them by search iTunes for "ATSB" or "Around the Storage Block".

YouTube icon.pngMore videos on YouTube:

I'm not doing as many "other" videos with all of the ChalkTalks but here's where you can find the rest of my videos.  These tend to be video demos - like one I did showing HP StoreFront Analytics Pack for VMware vCops or interviews I do at events like my discussion with Martina Trucco from HP Labs at HP Discover.  I almost always share these videos on the blog too so if you stay plugged in to ATSB, you'll catch these as I release them.

Facebook icon.pngHP Storage on Facebook:

I'm not the guy behind our Facebook postings - I'm kept busy with everything else I do - but there is some great content there.  This is a great place to keep in touch with the highlights of blogs, videos, and podcasts.  There's an update about once a day pointing to some piece of interesting information that you can use.  Follow (and Like!) us on Facebook!

Twitter_logo_blue.pngHP Storage on Twitter

Back when first starting blogging, I was a Twitter-naysayer.  It took the first 10 minutes of a "what is twitter" session by a fellow HP employee to convince me I was wrong.  I love Twitter and the community of people I know there.  If you haven't checked it out, I highly recommend you follow me on Twitter!  There are a number of us on Twitter but the key accounts I'd point you to are my @HPStorageGuy account, @HPStorage, and @KateAtHP.  Kate is a frequent guest blogger on ATSB and is focused on Software-Defined Storage.

Folder_RGB_blue.pngHP Enterprise Business Community Support:

The HP Enterprise Business Community is a support site where you can get your questions about HP Storage answered.   I drop in to remind myself how much I really don't know and on a rare occasion help answer questions.  If you have HP Storage questions, you should keep this URL handy!  Another related option is to use HPChat - this can get you access to HP Support either by email or chat:

Google+.pngGoogle+  (link to me on Google+)

Google+ is a growing community - one that I joined early on but initially wasn't very active.  Then I got my Galaxy S3 phone and it has great integration with Google+.  If you look at the right-hand rail of the blog, you can see there's now always a link to my Google+ account - so if you're using it, add me to your circle and I'll add you back!

Well, I hope you stay in touch and not just reading, watching, or listening - I want to hear from you in 2014!  I look forward to connecting with you and Happy New Year!
