Coming from an Equallogic, one feature that was nice was that on a volume resize, it prompted you to create a snapshot prior to resizing. This way if something goes wrong, the parachute opens
:-)
Thanks,
Scott

SolutionHi
Nimble Storage does this for you automatically, and has done since inception. Any change you make to a volume automatically creates a "NSS" snapshot which isn't cleared down as part of a retention policy. You'll see this in the snapshots tab.
You'll need to clear these down manually should you not wish to keep them.

Re: Feature Request: Create snapshot on volume size modification
Thanks,
I was trying to figure out a couple weeks ago how those got there. I thought it was from the Vmware Volume Plugin.

Re: Feature Request: Create snapshot on volume size modification
Nick,
Is there a way of finding the NSs snapshots easily to remove them? I have noticed that they can consume a lot of space, and am looking for an easy way through the GUI, or easy script thru CLI/SSH to find them.
Thanks!
Stefan

Re: Feature Request: Create snapshot on volume size modification
Hi Stefan!
If you give Nimble Support a call, they can create you a custom CLI script which will search the array and purge all your 'NSS' snapshots for you. The script is custom to every customer.
