LOL - thanks Amirul... that sort of decision is well above my pay grade but I do agree tools like UFS explorer are a FANTASTIC compliment to useable online snapshots :-)

I prefer to simply clone the LUN, then add the .vmdk to another VM to access the files.

We have a console VM with all of our admin tools. I just clone the datastore via the vSphere plugin, then add the existing .vmdk disk to the console VM and can browse/copy the files via Windows' File Explorer.
