ISCSI and Hyper-V with Nimble

Hi

Is ISCSI supported on Hyper-V server 2019 with NIC teaming.

That is ISCSI is using shared NIC (seperate VLAN) with NIC teaming

do I need to Install MPIO if I have two VLANs for ISCSI?

Regards

No. I am not aware of any OS with which one would use NIC teaming for iSCSI.

Install MPIO for the multipathing.

Install HPE Storage Windows Toolkit (NWT) for optimal use.

Re: ISCSI and Hyper-V with Nimble

Hi

I read this artical

https://techcommunity.microsoft.com/t5/core-infrastructure-and-security/is-nic-teaming-in-windows-server-2012-supported-for-iscsi-or-not/ba-p/256068

and my customer does not want to add network adapters

can tell me what you think

Re: ISCSI and Hyper-V with Nimble

We certainly can't make them use the Windows Toolkit, but it is a HPE Nimble Storage best practice.

Having a Hyper-V operation, I'm guessing they have a cluster. I assume they could try with one system with NWT and the other following the Microsoft forum's notes. See if there's a difference in performance, see if there's a difference in HA tolerance during system testing.
