2900-48G (J9050A) learns dynamic VLANs even if disabled

Two switches of type "2900-48G (J9050A)", both running the latest firmware (T.13.84) will dynamically learn VLANs advertised via GVRP, even if "unknown-vlans" is set to "disable" on all interfaces.

I suspect this is a firmware bug.

What I did is:

config

show gvrp

(tells me gvrp is currently off)

show vlans

(does not know any GVRP vlans yet)

interface all unknown-vlans disable

gvrp

show gvrp

(tells me "unknown vlan" is set to "disabled" for every interface)

gvrp

show vlans

(shows a bunch of GVRP vlans learned from upstream *even though the switch is not supposed to learn vlans through interfaces that are "unknown-vlans disabled"*)

Is this a known problem?  I'm having a hard time believing that this slipped past QA, so maybe I'm still doing something wrong (however the exact same procedure does work as expected on a dozen other procurve switches.  It seems that only J9050A is affected.

What do?

correction: One of the affected switches is actually  2900-24G (J9049A), same firmware (T.13.84)

Re: 2900-48G (J9050A) learns dynamic VLANs even if disabled

For the record, the problem disappeared after temporarily setting all interfaces back to learning

i.e. "interface all unknown-vlans learn"

and then (once again) disabling:

i.e. "interface all unknown-vlans disable"

Color me underwhelmed (I hate "turning it off and on again"-sort of solutions).

This makes it pretty clear that there's an underlying firmware issue involved.
