4000's, 4108gl's, and 5308xl and syslog

Do the 4000's, 4108gl's, and 5308xl have syslog capabilities? I've been poking around but can't seem to find anything.

Thanks

Colin Weiner

HP calls them trap receivers. They are on Page 6-17 of the
Management and Configuration Guide for the HP Procurve Switches 1600M, 2424M, 4000M, and 8000M
(September 1999) .

You can only set them up from the console.

Hi.

AFAIK 4000 doesn't, 4108 I'm not sure of, but 53XX does support syslog. Command is

logging

and you do need the latest firmware.

Check for details in the Manual Supplement in http://www.hp.com/rnd/support/manuals/5300xl.htm.

Trap receivers are a different thing, that's simply the station that can be used to receive regular SNMP traps.

this is snmp only facility. U need fine-visualized SNMPd app to use this "feature"
