5406zl2 - newly installed switch high latency ping on management module
Hi,
just installed a new 5406zl2 with dual management module. Network is extremely small (just basically those 2 switches, with 50 or so endpoints connected, mainly workstations). MSTP is enable as well as VRRP.
Everything seems to work fine from and endpoint point of view. if i ping the ip address of the management module on the same vlan, i got steady 16ms latency. CPU is at avarage 4% utilization.
Also, and this is the most annoying thing, after a while i cannot ping the management module IP. In order for me to do that, i need initiate a ping and after 5-6 ping, the management module starts responding. Basically everytime i need to ssh or ssl in i need to initiate a ping first to "wake up" the management module.
Any ideas?
thanks

Which address are you ping-ing SSH-ing to? the VRRP address or the switch real IP address?

Re: 5406zl2 - newly installed switch high latency ping on management module
thanks for your reply. I am pinging the real ip. I dont have problems pinging the vrrp, vrrp virtual ip works straight away...strange.
