Hi!
We have a 5412Rzl2 Switch with a J9990 Module. We bought a 10 Gbit Copper Transceiver 813874-B21 to connect a Qnap NAS with 10 Gbit, but the switch says, that the Transceiver type is not supported in this port.
My Question: Is it the wrong Transceiver, or is it damaged ?
Thanks.

It's an unsupported Transceiver.
Depending on which ArubaOS-Switch version your Aruba 5400R zl2 is running on (pre/post KB.16.03)...you could try to force unsupported transcerivers to be recognized (see here).
On the other hand it would be correct to use a supported Transceivers...so please check ArubaOS-Switch and ArubaOS-CXTransceiver Guide (6th Edition, January 2019).
I think that SKU 813874-B21 is used on HPE ProLiant Servers (see here).

Re: 5412Rzl2 Transceiver Problem
Hi Parnassus,
thank you for your fast reply. :-)
I'll try this and if you want to, I'll give you a feedback.
regards,
Christoph

Re: 5412Rzl2 Transceiver Problem
I also noticed such a problem, I hope it has already been fixed

Re: 5412Rzl2 Transceiver Problem
Technically speaking there is nothing to fix because there isn't a problem = it's (working as it works) by design (unsupported transceivers are...unsupported...and, eventually, they are allowed to be tried without any warranty of functioning correctly once used into an Aruba switch).
