Aruba 2930F POE ISSUE !

Hello!

We have a SW 2930F with the WC_16_09_0012 image that fails the POE on all ports.

The PoE port Status is Fault in all ports.

Re: Aruba 2930F POE ISSUE !

Hi @alexlorenzo12

Does the 'show log' output indicate any PoE controller or Self test failure. Can you share the 'show tech' output to validate the issue, the switch could be faulty and might need RMA. Alternatively you can log a case with support who will validate the issue and provide you the replacement.

Thank You!

Re: Aruba 2930F POE ISSUE !

Hi, thanks for your quick response!

The only message related with PoE that is see is:

"With this SW release the poe-value field is not allowed to be set when poe-alloc-by is not value. Changing to default value of 17w."

Hi @alexlorenzo12

The message "With this SW release the poe-value field is not allowed......" is an information message. The 'show tech' may help us to identify if its hardware issue. You may capture the 'show tech' output and search for the keyword 'selftest' and check the status.

Example:

poe_controller_show_all

Port y (channel y): selftest = FAILED
pongEnable = 0, legacyEnable = 0
detEnable = 0, classEnable = 0
hpEnable = 0, portStatus = 0
detectStatus = 0, classStatus = -1

Thank You!

Re: Aruba 2930F POE ISSUE !

Hi @drk787!

All ports get a self test passed result.

Port 1 (channel 1): selftest = PASSED
pongEnable = 0, legacyEnable = 0
detEnable = 1, classEnable = 1
hpEnable = 1, portStatus = 1
detectStatus = 6, classStatus = -1
operMode = 2, disconnectMode = 0
iCutRange = 0, rDis = 0
class4(2-evt) = 0, FET status = 0
iCut = 20, iLimit = 0
Voltage(dV) = 0, current(mA) = 0, power(mW) = 0

Port 2 (channel 2): selftest = PASSED
pongEnable = 0, legacyEnable = 0
detEnable = 1, classEnable = 1
hpEnable = 1, portStatus = 1
detectStatus = 6, classStatus = -1
operMode = 2, disconnectMode = 0
iCutRange = 0, rDis = 0
class4(2-evt) = 0, FET status = 0
iCut = 20, iLimit = 0
Voltage(dV) = 0, current(mA) = 0, power(mW) = 0

.....

Port 48 (channel 4): selftest = PASSED
pongEnable = 0, legacyEnable = 0
detEnable = 1, classEnable = 1
hpEnable = 1, portStatus = 1
detectStatus = 6, classStatus = -1
operMode = 2, disconnectMode = 0
iCutRange = 0, rDis = 0
class4(2-evt) = 0, FET status = 0
iCut = 20, iLimit = 0
Voltage(dV) = 0, current(mA) = 0, power(mW) = 0

I have no idea what's going on. The SW PoE LED was constantly on and off.

Thanks
