Good evening,
we have a stack (ring) of 4 Aruba/HPE 2920 48POE+ Switches.
Because of a hardware failure on one switch we had to replace it with an identic new one. So far there is no problem, the stack detects the new switch as a new member, but after the necessary reboot of the new switch it seems that it freezes at startup.
The stack is detecting the new switch, but it stays in state "booting". After more or less 15 minutes the switch reboots again and gets the state "booting". That loop never ends.... .
We tried factory defaults, firmware down- and upgrades, etc. on the new switch, but everything without success .
The remaining stack is working without problems.
Are there any ideas how we can fix that issue?
Thanks in advance
Andreas

Re: Aruba/HPE 2920 48 POE+ Stacking Problem
Hello
I had a similar problem once. I fixed it after rebooting the whole stack at once with the new memeber already connected in stack.

Yes, normally you should not have problems with replacing or adding a memeber to a stack
