Configuring two Aruba (48 port) switches

I need to configure two 48 ports switches withouth the cascading option . Can i use the uplink ports (49-52) to connect both the switches as vsf wont work because the model numbers are not the same .

Re: Configuring two Aruba (48 port) switches

What Switch series are you exactly working with? Switch series supporting VSF are Aruba 2930F and Aruba 5400R zl2 (operating in v3 mode only, operating with v3 zl2 Modules only): VSF admits to be created also using different SKUs (that's valid on Aruba 2930F, not on Aruba 5400R zl2)...e.g. an Aruba 2930F 24 ports with a 48 ports...running on the same software levels.

If your Switches don't belong to series above (e.g. you're dealing with Aruba 2530 or Aruba 2540, just to say) you can still uplink them together using Port Trunking (generally up to 8 physical ports can be aggregated into one logical port called Trunk) operating the resulting Trunk port with a LACP bonding mode (LACP = IEEE 802.3ad) or Static bonding mode (without a protocol).

Yes, you can.
