Current Power not supported on modules from HP E5400
hi
I have HP E5400 J8698A switch with 4 Power Supplies and if I check system power-consumption, then I get "Current Power" Not supported.
# show system power-consumption
Slot Power Usage:
Slot Module Description Current Power
----- ----------------------------------------- ---------------
A HP J8702A 24p Gig-T zl Module Not Supported
B HP J8702A 24p Gig-T zl Module Not Supported
C HP J8702A 24p Gig-T zl Module Not Supported
D HP J8702A 24p Gig-T zl Module Not Supported
E HP J8702A 24p Gig-T zl Module Not Supported
F HP J8702A 24p Gig-T zl Module Not Supported
G HP J8702A 24p Gig-T zl Module Not Supported
H HP J8702A 24p Gig-T zl Module Not Supported
I HP J8705A Gig-T/SFP zl Module Not Supported
Should I exchange modules / power supplies to solve this problem, or there is other solution?

Re: Current Power not supported on modules from HP E5400
Hi
most of the modules are of the type J8702A and one is J8705A. This modules belong to the first generation of zl modules, release many years ago. I would check with another type of module. In particular if you have v2 modules, it would be interesting to test whether they can display current power.
v2 modules have a "v2" in their product names like HP 20-port Gig-T / 4-port SFP v2 zl Mod
BTW I found an old post regarding power supply issues and I see there this command posted.
DR-Core# show system power-consumption
Slot Power Usage:
Slot Module Description CurrentPower
----- ----------------------------------------- ---------------
A HP J9534A 24p Gig-T PoE+ v2 zl Module 22 W
B HP J9535A 20p GT PoE+/4P SFP v2 zl Mod 21 W
Here we have v2 modules and they indicated current power.
Not sure whether this is helpful just my thoughts.
