Difference between 455883-B21 and J9150A
I need connect a Procurve 6120GX with a virtual connect to exchange a lot of Oracle datafiles, about 3 TB of files in a short time. An idea is to use fcoE but looking the quick spec of both network equipments I found 2 different part number available for this case:
455883-B21 (HPE BladeSystem c-Class 10Gb SFP+ SR Transceiver)
and
J9150A (HPE X132 10G SFP+ LC SR Transceiver)
What's the difference between the two transceiver?
which one should I buy 455883-B21 or J9150A?

Re: Difference between 455883-B21 and J9150A
IMHO you should always follow the product's QuickSpecs document (actually named HPE 6120XG Blade Switch's QuickSpecs [*]): the SKU J9150A "HPE X132 10G SFP+ LC SR Transceiver" is typically used as an SKU option code compatible with some HPE Aruba Switch series, so not specifically tied to any HPE ProLiant blade server model...totally possible that those SKUs are de-facto interchangeables (where mostly supported: check both Blade Server side and Switch series side) and there are no relevant optics related technical differences preventing to used them on your product.
If you check older HP ProCurve 6120XG QuickSpec document's editions (you can easily go back with version history when you open the linked QuickSpec) you will discover that J9150A SKU was already listed within compatible options well before 2013 - probably since 2010 - so, no doubts, it can be used on your actual Blade Switch and it can be used on some current Aruba Switches series too (not sure you can do the contrary: use an SKU 455883-B21 "HPE BladeSystem c-Class 10Gb SFP+ SR Transceiver" - QuickSpecs here - on any recent Aruba Switch series with updated firmware).
[*] J9150A is supported on HPE 6120XG Blade Switch as a possible SFP+ Transceiver.
