Firmware Upgrades 5406zl2 chassis

Looking at upgrading 2 Aruba 5406zl2 switch chassis' (J9850)

Current version KB.16.02.0013

After reviewing the Firmware available - i am thinking that I can upgrade as follows:

from KB.16.02.0013 to KB.03.0007 then from KB.16.03.0007 to KB.16.05.0013, then from KB.16.05.0013 to KB.16.08.0002

I'm asking as I am new to HP/Aruba Switches after working in a Cisco environment for many years.

Thanks for any suggestions.....

Standalone chassis or two chassis deployed into a VSF?

In any case (keep in mind that VSF requires a specific approach to software update since the operation involves two chassis and should be executed using a specific command) you could go straight from KB.16.02.0013 (not too old) to KB.16.08.0002 (if the 16.08 software branch is your desired destination branch among other available and still developed)...the only particular thing to be prepared of should be a possible dual automatic reboot that is going to happen IF your actual BootROM requires an update (the check is automatically performed when you reboot into new flash image...verify on involved Release Notes to discover if that will be the case in your scenario...I really don't remember if it changed between 16.02.0013 and 16.08.0002).
