HP Aruba 2530-48 port halt(freeze)

Hello,

i have random problem with switchs 2530-48 series.

FW:YA.16.08.0002

ROM:YA.15.20

Port is enabled and up but network not work. Packets transmitted only (DHCP request or broadcats when i set static IP on connected device). After reboot switch this port work fine some time. Device what connected to this port is work great on neighbor port what configured the same.  What can i do with this problem?

Can you share sanitized running configuration of the switch?

What is the output of show interface command applied on interface showing the issue?

Re: HP Aruba 2530-48 port halt(freeze)

Without seeing the running configuration (the entire one better than just the interface contexts part only) it's difficult to understand what is going on...try to clear ethernet statistcs for interface under diagnosis (interface 3, isn't it?) and before starting a new test try to disable-then-enable it with peer connected while collecting related logs (e.g. by examining show logs -r command output).

Zero drops, errors and collisions make me argue the interface is apparently healthy.

What exactly do you want to see in the configuration? Its just acces port and it worked properly long time. No configuration changes were made. All interesting what i can find in log this - "system:The security log buffer is almost full", "ntp:All the NTP server associations reset", "ntp:The system clock time was changed by...."

Re: HP Aruba 2530-48 port halt(freeze)

The log is full of what?

Try to understand if so numerous logged messages are related to interface 3...with:

show logs -r | include Port 3

Have you tried to diagnose with fault finder feature on that port?

Strange it isn't receiving any packet (Rx)...

Re: HP Aruba 2530-48 port halt(freeze)

show logs -r | include Port 3

show only port up\down and STP messages.

In this morning i was get second port with this problem - 3 and 4.

but i have workaround for it without reboot switch- i turned off port for 3-5 minutes and turned it on again. Now both ports work.

Thans for all, if i get this problem again i will write a support request.

Re: HP Aruba 2530-48 port halt(freeze)

If you have interfaces flappings (STP blocking) often better that you start diagnosing them carefully IMHO...just rebooting a Switch is not a permanent solution...and, maybe,- as a workaround - it will give you the false impression all is solved without understanding that things can go crazy again.
