Re: HP aruba 5406r zl2 frimware
The software is correct but, since it seems you're dealing with a VSF (two frontplane stacked Aruba 5412R zl2), there are for sure some preliminary diagnostic tasks - involving data gathering - to accomplish before any update/upgrade attempt....first thing first you must have a crystal clear idea about what you're dealing with (HW/SW/Topology) and about its status (this mean collecting as many relevant informations as you can...and understanding downtime impact on peer devices/systems...if any)...and only then, provided that you have gained some experience in managing updates, do plan for the update process...in other words you must know what you are doing before you start...otherwise you will risk to experience what a run on a slippery road means (in networking terms).
Edit: I don't want to sound too awful...thus I ask: at least have you already read about VSF on Aruba 5400R zl2 documentation?
2nd Edit: below few important links you should read to familiarize with VSF and upgrade procedure.
- HPE Networking Information Library: Aruba 3810 / 5400R Management and Configuration Guide for ArubaOS-Switch 16.09
- With regard to the HTML manual linked above the VSF Chapter is directly available here. The very same guide can also be found, as usual, in PDF format (both on the HPE Networking Information Library above and on HPE Aruba Support Portal site at asp.arubanetworks.com -> Software & Documentation, here you can just filter for Aruba Switches on the right pane to easily find Firmwares you already found on the link you provided on HPE Support portal).
