High number of HP 3800 Series PoE Controller failures
We have been seeing a high number of PoE Controller failures on the 3800 series. Since it has two controllers only one bank of 24 ports is affected. However it is a pain since we open a ticket HP sends out a new switch and the carrier requires the old switch to be picked up at the same time the new one is delivered. I don't mind doing 1-2 once in a while but when we have 5-6 to do it is a real pain.
Anyone else experience this? Switches are grounded and plugged into a UPS, however doesn't stop a device plugged into the switch getting a surge and then breaking the controller.

Re: High number of HP 3800 Series PoE Controller failures
You have an advance replacement warranty - the defective item does not need to be collected at the same time. A separate time can be made for collection of that item (at no cost).
