I've got an e3800 and I'd like to do an upgrade, but I want to be sure of its model before I go ahead with this. I don't have access to its web interface so I've got to do this in the CLI
I can't see how I can show the actual model number of the chassis in the CLI, show system gives me serial numbers but doesn't display the chassis model number.
I poked around in the CLI and I couldn't see it - can someone set me straight?

Re: How can I positively identify the model of my e3800 through the CLI?
Thanks I didn't realize that the model number is encoded in the configuration itself - "show run" did it.
I'm coming from the Cisco world where "show version" shows the hardware platform as well as the software and I just didn't get it.
