Hi,
Anyone knows how to reset Procurve J9050a to be factory default without clear button?, my switch's clear button got broken and the console CLI got locked by username/password, too.
Thanks a lot.

SolutionHi,
you can try to reboot it with console connected and open terminal, there will be some bootoptions where you might reset the switch to factory default.
but if the switch is damaged, open a case at HPE, as the switch has lifetime warranty.

Re: How to reset Procurve J9050a to be factory default without clear button?
Big thanks to Alex, you gave me a hint.
I tried to boot to Monitor ROM Console during switch booting up with a special console connection setting below.
And delete some files in file system, then it worked.
Steps below:
- Console connection settings: Baud Rate – 9600 Data – 8 bit Parity – None Stop – 1 Flow Control – Xon/Xoff
- Selects 0 to boot into the Monitor ROM Console
- cd /cfa0
- cd cfg
- rm config1
- cd ..
- rm mgrinfo.txt
- boot
