Loop protect on HP2610
We had a situation where two wall ports were connected together but were on different switches. The 2610 switches detected the loop and disabled the ports but then re-enabled them again causing network issues. Until eventually an hour or so later it disabled both ports and the network problems went. We were then able to remove the linking cable.
We tested off network with the same setup and the switches didn't detect the loop between two lower level switches at all. A cable between two ports on the same switch does detect a loop however and disable ports.
Not sure whats going on can anyone explain please?
