Port Mirror VLAN monitoring on 4200G
Hi All,
I have a task to setup monitoring on two 3Com 4200G 24 port switches.
There are classic redundant configuration in DC: 2 routers and 2 switches.
Each router has LAN and WAN vlans on the switch. LAN has private IPs and NATed. Client worry that routers mangling VoIP traffic incorrectly and cause issue with phones on the LAN. And so require install monitoring of traffic before and after router.
I studied manuals and i can see that i will need to create monitor group on each 4200G and include WAN and LAN into it.
I am not sure how many VLANs i can add into the group? Is there any limit? If i can add both VLANs then i will need only one monitor port per switch or 2 interfaced on monitoring server. If i can't do so, then i will need two monitoring groups. Can i have two per switch? And number of free ports on monitoring server rise to 4.
Anyone with experience. Please let me know.
Thank you
