Ports going on/off-line on 5412zl with no STP

We are having miscellaneous ports blocked on our 5412zl.  At first, I thought the issue was STP.  We don't have any redundant connections so I turned it off.  But, we are still having the same problem.  The ports being blocked seem random.  PCs are connected to the ports.  In general, they aren't logging on/off and they aren't going to sleep. I know the log may show that some PCs are indeed going to sleep, but that doesn't represent the issue we're having.  Our problem is active PCs losing their network connection.  My PC has issues even when I'm in the process of using the Internet and/or other network activity.  The ports are just simply bouncing.  Most of our PCs are Dells, but mine is an HP.  So, I don't think the NICs are the same, which probably rules out a driver issue.

When I first noticed this issue, I upgraded the firmware. I've since upgraded twice again and the problem still remains.  I'm currently using firmware version K.15.12.0010.  A portion of the log is below.  Below that is the results of 'show tech stat'.  Any help you can give is greatly appreciated.

Re: Ports going on/off-line on 5412zl with no STP

I would still probably go for driver issue; I've seen it with one of the Intel chipsets failing after it had previously been sleeping. There is s much consolidation these days, I wouldn't be sure HP and Dell aren't using the same OEM parts.

Try putting a cheap desktop switch between one of the PCs having the problem and the Procurve, and see which if any of the links bounce then.

Re: Ports going on/off-line on 5412zl with no STP

I have two NICs installed in my PC.  I checked them both and they have the newest drivers.  I am losing connectivity while actively using the network at least 4-5 times a day now.
