ProCurve 5400zl sending SNMPv3 INFORM
I have ProCurve 5412zl switches running firmware K.16.02.0025 and I am trying to get them to send SNMPv3 INFORM messages instead of traps. I can get them to send v3 traps, v2c traps, and v2c informs (there are configuration options to use v2c INFORM vs. Trap, but there doesn't seem to be a way (that I can find) to send v3 INFORMs.)
INFORMs are acknowledged, and use the discovered authorative engineID from the receiving side.

Re: ProCurve 5400zl sending SNMPv3 INFORM
That manual is for a 2930 running 16.05, and does seem to have an option for inform vs. trap:
snmpv3 notify <notify_name> tagvalue <tag_name> type {inform|trap}
But a 5400zl running 16.02.0025 (the latest release for that model) does not have the "type" option, and only sends traps.
Do you know if there are plans to support this in future updates for the 5400zl?

Re: ProCurve 5400zl sending SNMPv3 INFORM
Hi,
Correct the document is for 2930, version 16.05 .
I am not sure which 5400 series you are using but this feature is available in 5400, version 16.05.
Please find the below linkfor the document:

Re: ProCurve 5400zl sending SNMPv3 INFORM
That document is for the 5400R zl2 - I have the 5400zl series - there is no 16.05 for it yet. Do you know if there are plans to implement SNMPv3 inform (not trap) for the 5400zl series switches?

Re: ProCurve 5400zl sending SNMPv3 INFORM
Hi,
Most of the product of 5400zl series is End of Sale.
Please log a case with support so they will check and confirm if there are any plans to implement SNMPv3 inform for the 5400zl series switches.
Thank You!
