Good day,
I have the feeling that yesterday one of our HPE ProCure switches (or the backplane) in the rack hung up.
Possibly also by some dust and there by 26 degrees room temperature?! Where the 26 degrees room temperature but within the specifications.
Can it really be that the switch just hung up?
Symptom was:
- ping response time at about 1 to> 1ms when the goal is reached, but every 5th or 10th or 5th ping, so irregular, was no longer answered (no answer).
Problem occurred quite suddenly, without any connection.
When we changed the port, the responses to the ping were again reliable / constant and also the ping response time again at about 1 to> 1ms, but the target is reliably reached again (on another switch).
What alternate HPE switches could be used instead of unmanaged HPE ProCure to monitor with HPE OneView? It makes sense to swap 3 switches, because they may have hung up spontaneously one time after a long time or again the above question: Can it really be that the switch just hung up?

ich habe das Gefühl, dass sich gestern eine unserer HPE ProCure Switches (oder die Backplane) im Rack im Büro eventuell aufgehängt hat.
Eventuell auch durch etwas Staub und dabei 26 Grad Raumtemperatur?! Wobei die 26 Grad Raumtemperatur doch innerhalb der Spezifikationen liegen.
Kann es wirklich sein, dass sich der Switch einfach mal aufhängt?

- Ping-Antwortzeit bei etwa 1 bis >1ms, wenn er das Ziel erreichte, aber jeder 5. oder 10. oder wieder 5. ping, also unregelmäßig, wurde gar nicht mehr beantwortet (keine Antwort).
Problematik trat ganz plötzlich auf, ohne irgendeinem Zusammenhang.
Als wir den Port wechselten (auf einen anderen Switch) waren die Antworten auf den ping wieder zuverlässig/konstant und ebenfalls die Ping-Antwortzeit wieder bei etwa 1 bis >1ms, jedoch wird das Ziel wieder (an einem anderen Switch) zuverlässig erreicht.
Welche alternativen HPE-Switche könnte man statt ungemanagter HPE ProCure verwenden um diese mit HPE OneView zu monitoren? Macht es sinn 3 Switche auszutauschen, weil sich eventuell einer mal nach langer Zeit spontan aufgehangen hat bzw. wieder obige Frage: Kann es wirklich sein, dass sich der Switch einfach mal aufhängt?

To help you to diagnose your issue aside from providing what are the symptoms you're observing on your network it's essential to provide also some other relevant details such as exact SKU (Model) of Switches involved, their sanitized configurations and a description of your network topology PLUS some logs collected on the Switch which is presenting/suffering of the problem.
Using ICMP Ping as a method to see if a connection to a device (Switch) is stable is not always good because ICMP Ping traffic has low priority and can be delayed by Switch if there is a traffic congestion going on.
I'm not an HPE Employee
