Problem with 4800G files

Hi there.

A co-worker is facing a problem with a 4800G switch, that shows the following message when boots:

"Lost chains in flash detected, please use  fixdisk to recover them!"

Entering the boot menu there is no option to issue the command, and the switch does not proceed the boot, simply freezes at this message and is necessary to boot it in order to access the boot menu.

Does anyone knows what is this problem and how can it be fixed?

Thanks in advance.

Regards.

Re: Problem with 4800G files

Hello Fred,

We have a 3COM4500G (JE063A) switch.

After booting same fault than you were.

"Lost chains in flash detected please use fdisk to recover them."

How did you solve it?

Thanks a lot!
