Rest counter on HP Switch E5406zl(J8697A)
Hello.
Is possible to reset to zero counter for a particular port?
I've tried these command:
clear statistic global
clear syslog statistic
But counter aren't resetted...
Is possible to do thsi without a switch reboot?
Thanks

Re: Rest counter on HP Switch E5406zl(J8697A)
"clear statistics <port>" should do it. "clear statistics all" for everything.
That will only clear the CLI stats though. MIB counters will not get reset.

Re: Rest counter on HP Switch E5406zl(J8697A)
Yeah, the web interface counters are collected via SNMP, and the counter objects cannot be reset (per the standard) without a reboot. The CLI counters don't have that restriction.
Probably have to go the script route to accomplish that, unfortunately. Wish I had a better solution for you.

Re: Rest counter on HP Switch E5406zl(J8697A)
The good thing about the SNMP counters is that you can collect them over time and graph them, so you don't really need to clear them in order to get a real-time view of what's happening right now.
That's a lot of errors on that interface.
What's going on?
You might want to slow the interface down.
Also, you need to get a view of the exact configuration on the facing interface on the other end of the link. If the other end is not set to auto, you need to set it to auto.
