Reverse IP address in DHCP protection

We enabled DHCP snooping on our Procurve switches some time ago, and on one 2530 switch I see the following entry in the log:

W 08/24/16 09:45:21 02684 dhcp-snoop: backplane: Drop offer from 2.32.42.10 of 10.42.36.215 because the address is already assigned to another client

The DHCP server has IP address 10.42.32.2, and this IP address is listed as an authorized server on all switches, but this switch apparently reverses the IP address. Any ideas why? The switch is running version 16.02.0008

Re: Reverse IP address in DHCP protection

Interesting.  That's a byte ordering (endianess) issue.  I'll get it looked at.

Is it just a display issue in the log and dhcp-snooping functionality is otherwise working?  Problem did not exist in the previous version you came from?

Thanks!

Re: Reverse IP address in DHCP protection

I have not heard any complaints from the users, so it could be just a display problem. I cannot remember seeing this in previous versions.

Re: Reverse IP address in DHCP protection

I have logs showing several entries like this.  And on the lastest software on the switches also..
