Routing with ProCurve 4100
Hello,
I have the attached configuration on a Procurve 4100 switch.
The traffic between two networks is working, but there are some clients on the 172.22.153.0 network that needs to go to Internet directly and I don't know how to setup the switch for the default route 0.0.0.0 using the firewall as gateway.
Thanks in advance
kind regards
Davide

Re: Routing with ProCurve 4100
Hi
You can do this in 2 ways:
1- Using 4100 as a Routing Switch: then enable IP routing on the 4100 and add a default route to the Firewall:
SW4100(config)#ip route 0.0.0.0 0.0.0.0 172.22.152.250
And:
on the firewall add a static route for Vlan 153 with gateways 172.22.152.105
2- You can use the firewall as a router and internet firewall and if you have a good firewall then i recommend to use this option because the 4100 has a limited routing features
And on the firewall you have more control on the traffic in case you need to add some security flavors :)
In this case the default gateway for all the clients is the firewall.
Good Luck !!!
