Transceiver Dell AOC-SFP-10G-5M on an Aruba 2930F-48G-4FPP JL254A Switch
Hi,
we need to connect a Dell server using a cable with transceiver module Dell: AOC-SFP-10G-5M on an Aruba-2930F-48G-4SFPP JL254A switch.
The switch does not recognize the transceiver.
We have already done the procedure indicated in the technical documentation of Aruba, applying the command but the module is still not recognized, and we update the firmware for the latest version available WC_16_08_0003.swi.
Could they help us?

Re: Transceiver Dell AOC-SFP-10G-5M on an Aruba 2930F-48G-4FPP JL254A Switch
Use a supported DAC Cable, supported by the Aruba 2930F:
- Aruba SKU J9281D: Aruba 10G SFP+ to SFP+ DAC Cable 1 meter long
- Aruba SKU J9283D: Aruba 10G SFP+ to SFP+ DAC Cable 3 meters long
Note that J9285D Aruba 10G SFP+ to SFP+ DAC Cable 7 meters long IS NOT supported on Aruba 2930F.
BUT...you could end up with a scenario in which now Aruba 2930F recognizes its supported DAC Cable and DELL doesn't anymore...so you are just slammed at start again...this could happen depending on how "sensible" (vendor proof) is DELL Server's NIC to DAC Cables used (Speaking about DAC Cables, Aruba is pretty much sensible about that).
An alternative would be to use original, compatible and supported short range SFP+ Transceivers on both ends (DELL SFP+ LC on DELL Server side [*], Aruba SFP+ LC on Aruba Switch side [**]) and interconnect them with a proper "totally agnostic" OM3 or OM4 certified LC/LC multi-mode fiber optic cable.
[*] probably a DELL SFP-10G-SR or similar (I'm not a DELL expert, you should check that).
[**] for sure an Aruba 10G SFP+ LC SR 300m Transceiver (Aruba SKU for this part is J9150D).
