Unwanted SNMP Traps
Hello,
I have about 35 HP/Aruba procurve switches in my district. Most of the switches are 3500yl(J8692A), with a firmware version ranging from 12.x-15.x. On the switches with 15.x, i setup SNMP traps for critical alerts only. A few minutes after I set this up, I'm bombarded by a few hundred e-mails from informational traps. I changed it from critical to not-info, but I still get traps such as port x is off-line, port x is blocked by STP, port x is on-line. I also configured the switches to not send link-change traps, but yet they still come in. I know 15.x is an old firmware, but is there something else that needs to be done to stop these traps from being sent out? My only resolution is to disable traps completely.
