VLAN trunking information disappears after electricity break
Hi,
I have faced problems with 2 different switch facing same kind of symptoms. First one was 2810-48G and the second was 2848-48 switch.
The first case was that we were replacing a switch with 2810-48G, and we had configured all settings ready. The switch had been configured for 5 different VLAN's. The switch had been shutted down for 2 days before taking it to production. When we started, and connected all cables, we noticed we couldn't access anywhere through the swithc. The configuration seemed to okay, but there was one thing changed. All of the VLAN trunk ports that had been "tagged", were now in state "No". All other VALN information remained. for example workstation network ports were untagged as they should be.
The another case happened during 2 hour electricity break. The switch was 2848-48, and it lost tagging information like above. All other settings were correct but tagged VLAN ports had dissappeared.
Any ideas to avoid these problems in the future?
Regards
Jouko
