about topology with core
Hello, please it could be a silly question in this forum but I would like to understand the role of a good switch for a core (what is the core , where is the core connected to?). We have a flat topology that we want to redesign the right way. We have like 2 switches 2910-24 and others like 4 2810-24 and one 48. We use a sonicwall from Dell as a firewall. Actually this firewall is also routing traffic between 2 subnets. We only want several VLANs : Management, VOIP, clientgroup1, clientgroup2, clientgroup3. This clients group will be access 3 corresponding terminal servers. Most of thsi clients are thin clients. Now, the trougput its horrible. We are thinking in a core and an start topology from that core. What it is the best suggestion. So much information that I am confused about the best track to get a better network.
Thanks
