j9150a Transceivers

I work for a public school district & we run mainly HP 3500yl switches. Most of the switches have been up & running for over 5 years without any problems.
This year we have had 5 j9150a 10 gig transceivers go bad. Switch either stops communication altogether or has multiple CRC errors.

My question is, is this normal?  Is 5+ years about the expected life? I'm not complaining, just curious.

HP is great about replacing them.

Re: j9150a Transceivers

At one stage I had about 60 3500s and before I got 9150a SFP+, I was using the older 10 Gb GBICs. After about 4 or 5 years, a whole heap of the GBICs failed within a shoirt time period.

Never had any trouble with the 9150a SFP+
