Autoloader

Hi,
I have a autoloader 1/9 with OmniBack II, and it is configured as /dev/rmt/0mb, may I use another device? For example, /dev/rmt/0cb, /dev/rmt/0ub, etc. Will I get more space?
Thanks.

Re: Autoloader

I would use /dev/rmt/cxtxd0BEST

This will always try for the best compression etc available. You will be able to see which driver it is by
"ioscan -kfnC tape"
the hardware path that represents your current device file should have a file including BEST.
Baldric, I have a plan so cunning you could pin a tail on it and call it a weasle.

Re: Autoloader

The device files which are built by the system as default are fine. You normally have device files with berkeley headers or AT&T. Unless you have created a specific device file which turns off data compression then the stnadard device file is fine. Let Omniback do the work.
