How to reset HP Surestore 818 Autoloader password to factory defaults

The password on my Surestore 818 Autoloader was changed from a very intelligent person, and is now not known any more. They forgot it.

How can I reset the Password

First step is to download new firmware which should reset the password. I prefer 2.11 firmware but 2.12 is the latest. There is a minor change for move error recovery in 2.12.

Use LTT http://www.hp.com/support/tapetools and get firmware from web should automatically get the 2.12 firmware for you.

Repost if still having problems I'll monitor this thread.
