Problem with Autoloder 1/9 and backupexec
Hi,
Here is the description of my problem:
I have autoloader 1/9.
I am using backupexec 8.5 for NT servers.
After creating a job, in which I request to backup a certain job to tapes A, B and C (for example), what happens is the first tape backed up is A, but the next 2 tapes are chosen randomly (tapes E and G ??? for example).
Please advise ???..
Thanks,
Michael Kasan

Re: Problem with Autoloder 1/9 and backupexec
Hello Michael,
I'm not very familiar with backupexec, but I looked on Veritas's web site and found this support document:
http://seer.support.veritas.com/docs/241773.htm
Hope it helps!

Re: Problem with Autoloder 1/9 and backupexec
If that last reply seems a bit complicated it might be use to know that Backup Exec isn't taking the tapes at random - it's taking them in the order "oldest first". To stop it doing this you have to label the cartridges in the correct order before the backup takes place.
