SureStore 10/180 and Unknown Device

We recently installed a new HP SureStore E 10/180 tape library. After rebooting the interface manager, I had the following device show up as an unknown device on all Windows 2000 servers - HP C7200 FC Interface SCSI Array Device. Are there any drivers for this that anyone knows of???

Re: SureStore 10/180 and Unknown Device

I've talked to HP several times and they say to just ignore it. I suggested that they may want to create a driver that does nothing just to prevent this from happening, but I doubt it will happen.

Re: SureStore 10/180 and Unknown Device

we have a lot of these running NT40 and coincidentally are upgrading one today -- i'll let you know.

how are you connecting your drives? be more specific, eg FC interface, SCSI, are you using HVDS & DLT, or LTO ...

ours are
20/700 (same style) with HVDS DLT80.

there's no driver loaded for the library in W2K, just 'unknown medium changer' for my 10/180 libs.

Re: SureStore 10/180 and Unknown Device

The NT 4.0 servers don't seem to mind any of this. 2000 servers are the ones that tend to complain. We are using FC interface to connect to the 10/180 with the LTO (6 drives). We were told to use the following Microsoft driver for the medium changer: HP DLT or HP/Plasmon/Pinnacle Optical Medium Changers.
