surestore tape library 2/20

Hi,
Lately out of the blue the throughput on one of the backup drives on our surestore went from 400MB/m down to 140MB/m. I tried everything I can think of to speed it up again but nothing seems to work. Did anyone else expreience similar problems?

Could you give us a bit more info:
What type of tape drive?
Are the backups over a network?
What is the usage on the source system like during the backups?
Any new batch processes running?
