Outlook Express will not download messages

After installing McAFee protection for my computer I now find that I cannot receive or send messages through Outlook Express. Not being a computer wizz kid I have tried everything that I can think of to put this right, but I still have no result. Its probably something simple but beyond me. Help pleeeeeeease.

Can you download messages if you stop McAfee? If so, you need to check McAfee mail filter.

What version of mcafee have you installed mcafee include Outlook and Outlook express as an exception on the firewall.

Meaning it should not block your email if that is the cause.

Try one or 2 things got to services.msc through
START-RUN-services.msc and stop the mcafee service but depends on what version you have running to what service to stop.

Or try uninstalling it to see if your emails works then if it does you know it is the mcafee if it does not well you get the picture
