Pavilion 9715 secondary harddisk
Hello, I would like to upgrade my Pavilion 9715(UK) by adding an extra Harddisk, preferably a 180GB 7200rpm for DVD applications. My PC is running on Windows XP Prof. and has 512 MB Ram. How can I get my motherboard to recognixe the full capacity of a second harddrive, incase there is a limited amount it will see, like 60Gb (as i was told). Can I flash the bios (the version installed is 2.00 07/26/00) and which version will I need?
Manu thanks

Re: Pavilion 9715 secondary harddisk
Hi Carmine,
Above this page, the "support & drivers" link may help you find the appropriate BIOS update.
Also a PCI/IDE adapter from the manufacturer of your larger disk should offer an alternative solution to possible limitations put to your current system.
Alain.

My 250GB Western Digital drive came with just such a card. It was made by Promise.
