A view of The Machine from an analyst perspective

An-IT-analyst_s-review-of-The-Machine-1411 (Small).jpg

By Curt Hopkins, Managing Editor, Hewlett Packard Labs

We've spoken at length about The Machine and Memory-Driven Computing on this blog. Our perspective is, quite reasonably I think, that of the creators of emerging technology. But once that technology emerges, it has to useful to others or it's just an excerize.

To provide that IT analyst perspective, Tirias Research's Paul Teich has written an exhaustive story for Enterprise.nxt.

"An IT analyst's view of The Machine" is spread across four videos and a transcript, in which he addresses questions like "What are the unintended consequences of new technology?" and "What is the future of data center design?"

I am trying to contact Curt Hopkins to ask permission to use one of his images in my lesson. I can't seem to find his email address or a link to email him anywhere in this community forum. Please help. Thank you, Kathy Savage

The Machine represents a sizable investment in research dollars. So far, there is nothing to show. Seems like a lot of vaporware and hype.

Sorry I didn't see this until now. Let me know if you still need my approval.
