Discover 2016: Get some face time with senior Labs telco researchers at two discussion forums

By Curt Hopkins, Managing Editor, Hewlett Packard Labs

Telecommunications firms and communications service providers face tremendous user demands and how they respond to those demands determines how competitive they are.

Providing telcos with the means to address these needs can make the difference not just between profit and loss, but between staying open and failing to meet customer expectations.

Two different Labs discussion forums at HPE Discover, hosted by senior technologists from Labs working on advanced networking technologies, will let you participate in a lively discussion about what’s next for the telco industry.

Next-generation LTE networks

Principal Research Scientist and Mobility Research Group Manager Kyu-Han Kim will lead a discussion titled, “A Hewlett Packard Labs conversation; LTE-Centric next-generation enterprise access networks (DF8103),” scheduled for Tuesday,   June 7 at 11:00 AM.

Kim will talk about HPE’s LTE-centric enterprise access network, which provides excellent Quality of Experience (QoE) for business-critical communications, while also leveraging the bandwidth of Wi-Fi networks in a seamless and cost-effective manner. You can also see the new technology in action at Demo 1312: HPE LTE components enabling enterprise and IoT solutions, located in the Empower area of the Transformation Zone.

Read more about Labs’ work on QoE.

Resource orchestration

The next day – on Wednesday, June 8 at 3:30 PM – Puneet Sharma will lead “A Hewlett Packard Labs conversation; resource orchestration in virtualized telco networks (DF8103).”

Sharma will lead the discussion on the automated resource flexing technologies necessary to enable businesses to realize the true value of Network Function Virtualization (NFV).

Read more on Labs’ work on NFV and read about the HPE Discover Transformation Session devoted to envisioning the future of virtualized telecommunications services, where Puneet is also a panelist.

Don’t miss your chance to talk with Labs technologists about what’s keeping you up at night in your business!
