Labs returns to London for Discover 2016

By Curt Hopkins, Managing Editor, Hewlett Packard Labs

For the second year, HPE Discover is coming to London. The company-sponsored conference on technology and business solutions will be at the ExCel Centre from November 29 through December 1.

In addition to the hands-on tech petting zoo and the demos on the conference floor, we are presenting Innovation Sessions, Transformation Sessions, and Discussion Forums.

Register now to take advantage of our experts’ know how and their vision for the future.

Innovation Session

Everything Computes: Emerging technologies that will shape our world (IS11761)

The digital world is at a tipping point. Rates of change in technology and business are outstripping our ability to comprehend them. As IT and business strategies converge, traditional assumptions about forecasting, planning and competitive advantage are going out the window, forcing companies to rethink everything they do. Join us to examine emerging megatrends and disruptive technologies such as new computing paradigms, machine intelligence, security, edge computing and IoT, and see how Hewlett Packard Labs is innovating for the future.

Thursday, December 1, 9:30  -10:00

Transformation Sessions

Breaking bottlenecks and igniting innovation, new interconnect technology for a data-intensive future (T11308)

We have arrived at a new computing age where exploding data volumes, demands of real-time analytics, and the emergence of new classes of memory and storage, require the fundamental re-architecture of system interconnects. Industry leaders are looking to create a new, open and flexible interconnect to address current technology challenges. Join Labs Chief Architect Kirk Bresniker and Keith McAuliffe, VP and Chief Technologist, Servers to learn how this exciting new technology will ignite an unprecedented wave of innovation across the IT industry.

Wednesday, November 30, 10:30 - 11:00

Hewlett Packard Labs, accelerating toward exascale (T11310)

The potential for human and economic development is matched by our boundless demand for computing resources. To solve tomorrow’s most challenging problems, scientists, and businesses will need computers with vastly greater performance and power efficiency than can be constructed today. Join Paolo Faraboschi, Fellow in Systems Research at Labs, and Mike Vildibill, VP of Advanced Technologies for HPE, to learn how Hewlett Packard Labs’ technologies will enable us to accelerate toward exascale computing to address these issues and shape the next phase of economic and human development.

Tuesday, November 29, 12:30 - 13:00

Hewlett Packard Labs accelerates finance with blazingly fast derivatives pricing and risk management (T11311)

The financial industry relies heavily on simulations to value and analyze complex instruments and to manage risks, but financial institutions are bound by compute-intensive simulations that make it infeasible for real-time applications. Join Natalia Vassilieva, Senior Scientist in Analytics, to learn how Hewlett Packard Labs utilizes large-memory systems to accelerate simulations by factors of up to 10,000X and enable fast and accurate pricing with real-time risk management.

Wednesday, November 30, 4:30 - 5:00

Securing containers with Hewlett Packard Labs (T11309)

Containers offer numerous advantages for developers, but are containers ready for prime time? Come to this session, led by Nigel Edwards, Distinguished Technologist, Security and Manageability Lab, to learn how Hewlett Packard Labs’ innovations enable enterprises to keep all their agility, while also providing guarantees for isolation and the control required for security and compliance.

Thursday, December 01, 10:30 - 11:00

Discussion Forums

A Hewlett Packard Labs conversation on next-generation enterprise connectivity with mobile edge (DF11313)
