Alertmail not being sent on C3000 blade system
Hi,
I am trying to configure a C3000 blade chassis for email alerts and its all set up in terms of the SMTP server (MS exchange) IP has been entered and the domain and the email address that we want to use for alerts.
When clicking the send test alert mail button it says that it has sent a test mail but nothing comes through and the system log has an entry "Alertmail: Failed to send AlertMail to" followed by the email address that we want to use.
We have added the IP of the OA interface to the exchange server's allowed relay list to see if that made a difference but it didn't.
The firmware of our C3000 is 2.32 are there any known issues with alertmail on this firmware?

Hi Ed,
Configure one pc with the same ip address of active OA. From that PC try to telnet to SMTP ip with the port no 23. May be the ip of your OA is blocked to access SMTP port from the firewall or etc.

Hi Sobhan, thanks for your suggestion.
I did think that there could be a firewall involved after I submitted my query.
I will have a look at the firewall to see if it is allowing SMTP traffic.
