Automatic drive slamming

I upgraded the firmware on my BL20p G3 and decided to run SmartStart array and server diagnostics for fun. When I ran ADU, I noticed a parameter called 'Automatic Drive Slamming', enabled or disabled. It was enabled. Question is: what the heck is Automatic drive slamming? Sounds destructive (ever heard of slam dancing?). Should it be disabled?
