BL 870 i2 network
Hi,
BL 870 I2 is failing for network boot.
PXE-E12: Could not detect network connection
c7000 enclosure we have VC-ENT (8 port) module. B870i2 has flex10 embedded nic. Is it mandatory that flex 10 embedded NIC (if server is ordered with Flex 10 ethernet adapter) need flex 10 vc-enet module? Pl. confirm.
Thanks.

Re: BL 870 i2 network
Option 1
SOunds like VC was not properly configured to present nic cards to network. Please check your VC configuration. if it is not seeing the ignite server that could be the issue. I have seen situations where the system got a IP but was unable to boot but that was resolved by option2.
Option2
Make sure you have the latest version of ignite on your ignite server as your DHCP server.
Make sure you are booting from the correct lan card

Re: BL 870 i2 network
Hi SAM,
Did you check the Network Card Speed/Duplex setting ?
Please avoid AUTO.
You can change the network card Speed/Duplex setting using drvcfg (EFI Command)
HTH,
Regards,
Surendar.

Re: BL 870 i2 network
There should be virtually no chance of an autonegotiation problem between the LOM of a BL870c i2 and the dowlinks of a supported chassis I/O module.
there is no rest for the wicked yet the virtuous have no pillows
