BL45p FC connection
I have a Blade Server BL45p server with dual port FC mezzanine card installed, mounted in a p-class encloser. The server occupies bays 1 & 2 in the encloser. I also have patch panel 2 installed.
I know that the left most bay corresponds to port1 on the patch panel and so on... The question is... which port in the patch panel 2 corresponds to a server occupying two bays ?

Re: BL45p FC connection
Check:
http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bc/docs/support/SupportManual/c00220357/c00220357.pdf
In the case of blades that occupy 2 bays, only the odd ports are used. The mezzanines are connected to ports 1, 3, 5 an 7 on both patch panels.

Re: BL45p FC connection
I have attached the cables to port 3 on both sides. When I try and use the hp tools installed with the driver software I get.
./adapter_info
/proc/scsi/qla2xxx/1: STATE=READY WWNN=50160b0100ef5f20 WWPN=50160b0100ef5f23
/proc/scsi/qla2xxx/0: STATE=DEAD WWNN=50160b0100ef5f20 WWPN=50160b0100ef5f22
Don't understand why one port is showing dead.
