BL460 Power Enclosure Error

Recently we've started getting notifications in event viewer with the following error:

Machine Environment : Power Enclosure Overheating (Zone 2, Location Power Supply, Temperature 201C, Enclosure Address FC97)

10 seconds later it seems to resolve itself and sends out a second notifier:

NOTE: This event indicates that the following situation, which was previously logged as an error, has been REPAIRED and is no longer a problem.

Re: BL460 Power Enclosure Error

So are you dealing with power error messages from 2 different enclosures? Your thread title is for a BL460, your second message looks to be from the older enclosures for the BL20p. BL460 and BL20p servers use different enclosures

Re: BL460 Power Enclosure Error

Hi,

this is known issue with the p-class management module firmware

http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/SoftwareDescription.jsp?lang=en&cc=us&prodTypeId=3709945&prodSeriesId=397630&swItem=MTX-9e0e8e80b2d545eeaa26c38678&prodNameId=3288174&swEnvOID=1005&swLang=8&taskId=135&mode=5

Check revision history (Fixes) :

Enhanced error detection algorithm to prevent false power enclosure overheating messages from being posted in the IML log on 1U power enclosures.
Caution: Machine Environment: "Power Enclosure Overheating (Zone X, Location Power Supply, Temperature xxxC, Enclosure Serial Number xxxxxxxxxx"
Repaired: Machine Environment: "Power Enclosure Overheating (Zone X, Location Power Supply, Temperature 0C, Enclosure Serial Number xxxxxxxxxx"

Update and error will go away
