Re: BL460c firmware upgrade failed
Better late than never... As the Gen8 blades tend to corrupt the NAND, i have stumbled onto the problem that a few BL460c Gen8 do not post after removal from a chassis (corrupt iLO).
BUT there is help if you want to invest the time... Switching the DIP switch 1 and 3 into the ON position does overrule the iLO and all you need to power on the blade is to connect it to 12 V (or return it into the chassis) and push the button.
So now you have a partially working blade capable of booting an OS, but you do not get any network connectivity via the fabric... But you can use the breakout cable to connect an monitor and 2 usb devices... So you can use a bootable usb stick and an usb wifi to access the OS and try to force flash the iLO and reformat its NAND.
This is the stage i am in right now for the lulz. I have not tried to reflash ilo, as the Gen8 system board is not worth it anymore...
